SHOOT Hoops is a group of families and friends, dedicated to the following:

“Ball is life.” 

“Beer is good.”

“Sunday is fun day.”

“Look at the mountain.”

and, 

“I was fouled by Andy Ryan.” 

As we approach the 27th SHOOT Tourney, many look back at all the great plays and the themes always point to the Offense. Defense is just as vitally important, yet Defense is that forgotten child, that’s low-life, that two bit (or is it “to” or “too”…and for that matter, what the hell does two bit really mean?) dog of a man. ENOUGH!!!!

Let’s emphasize Defense this year.  Let’s raise Defense on our shoulders and shout to the mountain top with praise and celebration!!

• Have the Defense be so stout that the other team will constantly complain with rants such as “That travelling call was rigged and is fake news!!”    This is a “Total Witch Hunt!”

• We want the Defense to look like One Big Beautiful Wall right after the half court line!  And the other team will pay for it!!!

• We want every offensive player to be crying out loud, “ICE!!” with tears, I Cannot Escape the grip of this Defense.

Let’s get fired up and bring this energy to Friday Night at the Hub and to the Courts on Sunday!! Saturday will be reserved for college football and beer of course.

MEN OF SHOOT –

As we are moving into the great Labor Day Weekend, we are thankful that our labor on Sunday, will not be in vain.

• We will run hard

• We will sweat

• We will laugh

• We will hurt or be tired (not sure there is a difference)

• We will have a refreshingly cold beer

• We will be thankful

• We will look at The Mountain

• We will celebrate

• We will remember

• We will relax on Monday and think about how much we labored the previous day
